Appel à contributions – Problem-Based Learning in Music Theory and History – 11 avril 2022

Appel à contributions pour le livre Problem-Based Learning in Music Theory and History, sous la dir. de Maria Purciello et Daniel Stevens.

« This volume starts with the premise that the disciplines of music theory and history are vital to addressing wide ranging problems within and beyond their academic communities. It will provide a pedagogical rationale and practical advice for implementing PBL across a range of developing cognitive levels, while offering diverse perspectives on the many forms that PBL can assume. We seek chapters that blend theory, history, performance, and composition (as experienced in the music history and theory classrooms) in their exploration of important musical and pedagogical issues. Chapters may address how PBL can be used to help students delve more deeply into matters pertaining to musical form, structure, and practice; the impact of technology, innovation, culture, philosophy, and religion on the creation of music; and ways in which musical identities are defined and preserved over time. »
