Appel de conférences pour le colloque « Telemann as an Interdisciplinary Subject of Research », Magdeburg, 16-17 mars 2026.

« The Telemann conferences, which are held every two years, have so far focused on specific topics such as Telemann’s work in courtly and urban contexts, his relationships with poets and composers, the compositional characteristics of his music, his engagement with particular genres, the reception history of his works, and questions relating to sources and dissemination. The aim was to explore specific issues in depth.

For the coming year, we extend a call for free papers. This is linked to the idea of expanding the breadth of research methodologies, and to the express desire for interdisciplinary approaches to Telemann as a central actor in eighteenth-century cultural life. Not least, we hope to encourage new impulses for Telemann research. Contributions on topics relating to current Telemann research are also welcome. We look forward to the participation of young scholars in particular. »
