Appel de conférences pour le Colloque annuel des étudiant.e.s des cycles supérieurs en musique, Université d’Alberta, 26 avril 2024.
« Keynote: We are excited to welcome Dr. Jillian Rogers, Assistant Professor of Musicology at Indiana University as our Keynote Speaker for this event.
This year’s theme broadly asks the question: What is happening in music today? Even more provocatively, what might music mean today, and to whom? How is music shaping the world and being shaped by the world?
We encourage the submission of papers on all genres of music and in any area of music research, including, but not limited to, musicology, music theory, ethnomusicology, performance, popular music studies, sound studies, music education, composition, and music technology. We also welcome graduate students from all disciplines and invite interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary focused papers to submit proposals in alignment with this year’s theme.
Publish: The Graduate Music Student Association is also collaborating with the Editorial Board of the Faculty of Arts’ graduate-student journal ‘Intonations.’ Following the conference, selected papers will be given the option to appear in a special issue of the journal.
Submission Guidelines:
- All submissions should include a title and 250-300-word abstract. Please ensure no identifying information is on the proposal as submissions will undergo anonymous peer-review.
- Abstracts must be submitted as attachments by email as either a Word file (.docx) or a PDF (.pdf).
