Appel de conférences pour le colloque « Rome crossroad of Arts between the 17th and 20th centuries », Rome, 14-16 mai 2024.

« The conference wishes to study and explore the synergies among Music and various Art forms (painting, sculpture, architecture, theatre, film, dance) in Rome between the 17th and 20th centuries. 

This little investigated topic requires an interdisciplinary perspective: the recent studies aim to regard music not as an independent phenomenon, but as part of a whole reality where many others Art forms converge. In Rome the mix of several artistic phenomena is rooted in a special humus, if not unique, and contributes to build a peculiar identity of the city. Many aspects of the topic of artistic crossing in the “Eternal City” need a complete study: how has music been influenced by other Arts (and vice versa)? How have music and other Arts contributed to shape the concept of Rome City? Which Arts have been “osmotized”, creating new forms? »
