Appel à contributions – Music & Politics

Appel de contributions pour la revue Music & Politics, sous la dir. de Karen Fournier et Mackenzie Pierce.

« We invite submissions to *Music & Politics*, a peer-reviewed journal that was founded in 2007 and that focuses broadly on research in the subfield of music and politics. We welcome articles from both established scholars and doctoral students in the fields of musicology, ethnomusicology, music theory, popular music studies, cultural studies, sound studies, and other music-adjacent fields. Music & Politics publishes online twice a year, with new issues appearing in the spring and the fall. Because we are an online, open-access publication, our authors reach a global readership.

We seek innovative and original manuscripts that expand or challenge conventional understandings of how music and politics interact. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to: the impact of politics on the lives of musicians and musical communities, music in political discourse, music/sound as a form of political action, music and political identities, the influences of ideology on musical historiography, and pedagogical issues pertaining to the study of music and politics in the classroom. Submissions of 12,000 words or less are accepted on a rolling basis.
