L’« Afro-Diasporic Opera Forum » est une série d’événements gratuits organisés par l’International Contemporary Ensemble en collaboration avec Opera Omaha et FringeArts, en ligne, 26-28 mai 2021, avec un prologue informel le 25 mai.

Le forum vise à présenter et étudier trois opéras :

• George Lewis, Afterword (2015)
• Tyshawn Sorey, Perle Noire. Meditations for Joséphine Baker (2016)
• Pauline Oliveros and IONE, The Nubian Word for Flowers. A Phantom Opera (2017)

« The Forum will end with the screening of Lisa E. Harris’ recent opera film, Cry of the Third Eye (2020). Over the three days, conversations and presentations will contextualize these works, showing the many ways in which they intersect, and their connection to the past, present, and future of a reimagined/reinvented opera. »
