Appel de conférences pour le colloque « South African Music Abroad Since 1994. Meanings in Cultural Diplomacy, Exchange and Collaboration », en ligne, 8-9 juillet 2022. 

« The colloquium will focus on the multiplicity of meanings in the music of democratic-era South Africa in foreign territories, a departure from studies that have investigated South African music abroad within the framework of apartheid. Some continuities between these periods of course remain. For this colloquium, however, inclusion of the former era is limited to overlaps with the current era. All contemporary South African music genres will be considered, whether enabled abroad through programs by foreign entities, initiatives by South African government entities, non-government institutions, agencies or by individuals. The programs or initiatives could be for goals encompassing education, markets, audience development, international relations, tourism, competitions, social justice, embassy concerts, etc. We welcome contributions from those in cultural practice, creative arts practice, arts administration, education, research, government and the civil service, political entities, non-profits, foreign agencies, journalism, and more. »
