Appel à contributions pour la collection « Routledge Musical Landmarks » dirigée par Christopher Dingle, Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
« Routledge Musical Landmarks explore key works, events and moments in music in all its diversity. Each of these accessible and stimulating short books draws on the latest research to provide the reader with a balanced perspective of its subject matter. Suitable for all levels of study and engagement, whether students, scholars or concert-goers, the books typically provide information not only on the background, genesis and musical materials being discussed, but also consider cultural contexts, reception and issues of performance and interpretation. Some books focus on individual key works, not just from the Western Art Music canon, but also areas such as popular music, film music and jazz. Others consider different types of landmark, exploring watershed moments, ideas and developments that transformed music and music-making, including some works or topics whose importance was previously overlooked, but that are now gaining overdue recognition. Available as both hard copy and e-books, with paperback following after 18 months, the individual titles provide both a first point of reference and a launchpad for further study for their respective topics, while collectively they create an ongoing library of intelligent exploration for the musically curious. »
