Appel de conférences pour le colloque « Music, Time, and Space », University of Pittsburgh, 22-23 mars 2024.

« We understand music, time, and space as interconnected: Music and sound shape time into what it is, what it was, what it could have been, and what it can be. Additionally, the particular space occupied by bodies, people, and communities in time highlights how certain creative capacities play out in relation to music and sound. This conference places the various facets of time and temporal trajectories at the center of our investigation of music and sound, inviting its participants to unravel the intricate relationships between these elements, broadly construed.

We welcome proposals that engage the fields of historical musicology, ethnomusicology, jazz studies, music theory, composition, performance, etc., as well as from anyone working with music/sound beyond these sub-disciplines. Prospective presenters are invited to submit proposals for papers, performance demonstrations, or other scholarly and creative presentations on any subject of musical interest. »
