« The 2023 symposium, Music and Ideas of the Popular, will explore ideas of the popular not only in contemporary British musical practices, but also in historical, contextual, biographical or theoretical contexts as well. We are thrilled to feature keynote addresses by Mykaell Riley and Catherine Tackley.

The Symposium is presented on Zoom and is free for all NABMSA members. All sessions are scheduled to accommodate participants in both the US and the UK. Guidelines for attendees, presenters, and chairs, and instructions for access will be provided on this page and via e-mail well before the conference begins. »
