Congrès « EuroMAC11 : Congrès européen d’Analyse musicale (EuroMAC 11) »,  Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC), Barcelone, 7-10 septembre 2026.

« We are pleased to announce that EuroMAC 11, the Eleventh European Music Analysis Conference, will take place in Barcelona from 7 to 10 September 2026. Most venues will take place at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC). This major event, promoted by several scientific societies within the European Network for Theory and Analysis of Music (T&AM), comes to the Iberian Peninsula at the initiative of three of its member organisations in the region: ATAM (Associació de Teoria i Anàlisi Musical), SATMUS (Sociedad de Análisis y Teoría Musical), and SPIM (Sociedade Portuguesa de Investigação em Música), through its Music Theory Research Group.

Since its first edition in 1989, EuroMAC has served as a key forum for scholars, researchers, and practitioners in music theory and analysis across Europe and beyond. Over more than three decades, it has reflected the evolution of the discipline—from the consolidation of analytical methods and national societies to the emergence of broader, interdisciplinary, and globally connected approaches. Each edition has contributed to redefining the purposes, languages, and communities of music-analytical research. 

EuroMAC 11 in Barcelona will continue this trajectory while asking whether music analysis today stands at a point of crisis or renewed vitality. The conference aims to foster dialogue on the present and future of the discipline, considering both its historical legacies and its evolving intersections with contemporary thought and practice. »
