« Recent developments in the field of ludomusicology demonstrate a growing interest in the scope of « play » outside video games. Many scholars are increasingly interested in music and its relationship to more aspects of music, games, and play, including but not limited to sporting events, amusement parks, casinos, and playgrounds. As a broader approach to ludomusicology defines the state of the field well beyond its traditional subjects, we seek to illustrate how the field intersects with a variety of subsets within musicology, theory, and other disciplines. »
