Appel de conférences du Groupe d’étude « Global History of Music » sur le thème « Ethics, Inequality and Collaboration in Global Music History » pour le 21e congrès de l’International Musicological Society (IMS), « Musique à travers les frontières », qui se déroulera à Athènes, 22-26 août 2022.
« How might the new field of global music history position itself in relation to current thinking about decoloniality and diversity? Can the practice of global music history avoid replicating the epistemic and political injustices of earlier colonialist and orientalist projects of knowledge extraction? Is ethical collaboration between researchers in the Global South and North possible in the face of large-scale structural inequalities? The IMS Study Group “Global History of Music” seeks proposals for presentations that address these or similar questions, to be discussed within the framework of the study group session at IMS2022. »
